The Cat Venture · S005 · The Mouse Hole

Inside a mouse-hole tunnel: three cats squeeze through a jagged circular opening from the living room on the left, where a floral armchair and red rug catch the daylight. Orange tabby, grey-and-white cat with brass goggles, and black cat with brown fedora and red scarf peer in. The earthen tunnel winds right under a string of warm fairy lights. On the right wall a tiny arched wooden mouse door sits beside a silver thimble lantern. In the bottom-right foreground a wooden spool table holds crumbs beside matchbox drawers topped with Swiss cheese.

They squeezed into the mouse hole and the living room shrank behind them. Fairy lights led deeper into the earth, past a thimble lantern and a door so small it might belong to someone who already knew their names.
